Fees & Payment

We accept Aetna for residents in Virginia, Washington DC, and New York. We also accept Georgetown University student health insurance (UnitedHealthcare Student Resources). For other clients, we are an out-of-network provider and do not accept payment from insurance companies. The psychotherapy services we render can be reimbursed by most health insurance plans. We are happy to provide you with a verification form called “superbill” that you can submit to your insurance company for partial or full reimbursement, dependent on your out-of-network coverage. Full payment (or co-pay from Aetna clients) is due at the time of service.

If you decide to use insurance, you should be aware that insurance companies require information about the dates of visit and a brief description of the service provided including a clinical diagnosis.

Good Faith of Estimate

Starting from January 1, 2022, psychologists and other healthcare providers are required by law, through the enactment of the No Surprises Act, to give uninsured or self-pay clients a Good Faith Estimate of costs for services being offered when scheduling an appointment or when clients request an estimate.

In compliance with the No Surprises Act, the Center for Women’s Psychotherapy will furnish you with an estimate of expected costs of our services following the initial evaluation, prior to starting psychotherapy so you will get a sense of what your medical budget will be. In accordance with the No Surprises Act, you can dispute a medical bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate.

For further information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
